Services

All services are currently being offered via telehealth only for clients in the state of New Mexico.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling can be provided for children, adolescents, and/or adults to address issues that the client would like to work on. Individual counseling involves meeting with a therapist one-on-one for the purpose of talking through thoughts, emotions, and goals, as well as reducing problematic behaviors and feelings related to issues like stress, anxiety, depression, work/life balance, vulnerability, relational issues, and grief/loss.

Couples Counseling

Couples counseling can be provided for couples seeking pre-marital counseling, experiencing conflict or other difficulties in their relationship, or for those wanting to strengthen their relationship. Couples counseling focuses on the problems existing between two people and can provide you with tools you and your partner need to improve communication, problem solve, and address ways to successfully handle tension, frustration or anger.

Family Counseling

Family counseling can improve troubled relationships, whether between parent and child, siblings, or other family relationships. Issues addressed may include conflict, behavioral problems, or a mental health concern that is impacting the family. Family counseling can help improve communication, problem solve, and help clients understand and handle special family situations. Some common issues are divorce, death, blended families, and family transitions.

Perinatal Mental Health

Perinatal counseling focuses on providing support through the transition and journey into parenthood – from pregnancy to postpartum. While this period can be an exciting time, it can also bring significant change and feelings of stress, worry, and isolation. Whether you are expecting a new baby or adjusting to life with one, you might experience some feelings you did not anticipate. Perinatal counseling can address maternal/paternal mental health, couples therapy for the parenthood transition, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Parenting/Co-parenting

Parenting can arguably be the most difficult job. It can sometimes feel very lonely and stressful and we often wonder if we are doing the “right” thing. It can be especially difficult if parents/caregivers are not on the same page as each other. The goal of parenting-focused therapy is to improve your relationship with your child. Common focus areas include child-caregiver attachment and bonding, parenting strategies, resolving issues with co-parenting, and developmental guidance for parents of children ages 0-5 years old.

Infant Mental Health

Infant mental health is focused on social and emotional development from birth to age three. This is especially impactful for mothers who have been exposed to trauma that may affect how they relate to their infants or for children who have been exposed to potential trauma. Infant mental health focuses on fostering healthy relationships, helping families encourage healthy development in infants and young children, and can identify potential attachment and bonding issues between infants and their caregivers.

Mood and Anxiety Disorders

There are many types of mood and anxiety disorders that can arise for different reasons. Through therapy, clients can explore causes and triggers for anxiety or mood disorders as well as learn coping skills and strategies to decrease or eliminate symptoms.

Life Transitions

We go through many transitions in our lives, whether it is moving, starting a new job or school, getting married/divorced, having a child, experiencing a loss, or any number of other life events. Transitions and changes, whether positive or negative, can bring about stress and anxiety. Adjusting to life transitions can be difficult. Therapy can help with the adjustment and challenges associated with life transitions.

Cultural Identity Issues

Culture can be defined as the way of life, customs, and beliefs of a particular group of people and identity relates to our personal qualities, beliefs, and personality. We are all a part of many different cultures in our everyday lives that shape our identity. We often think of culture as race or ethnicity, but it can be applied to much more beyond that. We may find ourselves struggling with our cultural identity for any number of reasons. Therapy can help you safely explore your identity and empower you to be your best self.
